How to Reach Ranipuram

By Road

Distance: The journey from Kannur Airport to Ranipuram spans approximately 95 kilometers and from Kanhangad to Ranipuram is just 43.9 kilometers.
Taxi/Car: The most convenient way to travel from Kannur Airport to Ranipuram is by hiring a taxi or taking a private car. Taxis are readily available at the airport. You can negotiate the fare or opt for a taxi with pre-fixed rates. The scenic drive takes about 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on traffic and the chosen route. From Kanhangad, it will take around 1 hour and 15 minutes to reach Ranipuram by car or taxi

By Public Transport

Bus: From Kannur Airport, take a bus to the Kannur city center. From there, board a bus heading towards Kanhangad or nearby areas. From Kanhangad, you can take the direct bus to Ranipuram, which is very limited in number. The preferred option is to get a bus on the Panathur route and get down in Panathady. From Panathady, Ranipuram is just 8 kilometers away, so you can reach it by hiring an auto-rickshaw or jeep.


Train: Kanhangad is the nearest railway station to Ranipuram, which is about 45 kilometers from Ranipuram. From Kanhangad, you can take a local bus to your destination.

Best Time to Visit Ranipuram

The ideal time to visit Ranipuram is during the winter months, from October to March. The weather during this period is pleasant, making it perfect for trekking and exploring the natural beauty of the region. Avoid visiting during the monsoon season, as heavy rains can make travel difficult and unsafe.

Ranipuram Peak: A Natural Marvel

Ranipuram is a charming hill station located in the Vellarikundu taluk of Kasargod District. Ranipuram does not have its own railway station. The nearest station is Kanhangad Railway Station, located about 45 kilometers away. From there, you can hire an auto-rickshaw or take a local bus to reach Ranipuram.
